Season of Giving

Wednesday, December 10, 2014 - Joe Kiedinger

As the holiday season approaches, we begin to hear about more and more opportunities to serve our community. We hear more requests for donations to food banks, to ring bells for the Salvation Army, to serve food at soup kitchens, to donate gifts for needy families and the elderly. And with these increased requests, we begin to associate the holiday season with serving others.

But the truth is there is a need to serve others all year long, not just now.

And there is a need to serve others in all areas of our lives, not just in the community.

Servant Leaders aim to serve the needs of others before our own. Period. Not just during the holidays. Not just at work. Not just when we have time. Not just when we feel like it. The role of a true Servant Leader is to give. To give of your time and talents all year and everywhere you go.
