Forgiveness

Wednesday, September 30, 2015 - Joe Kiedinger

One sure-fire way to become a more respected person is to exercise forgiveness. No matter how hard we work to create perfect relationships, things will still go wrong occasionally. But people are not perfect! They will let you down from time to time. The real test is how you, as a person, react when things go wrong.

This is just like in Servant Leadership which reminds us that good leaders are forgiving. I’m not saying you should just sweep problems under the rug and say, “Hey, that’s okay! Maybe they’ll do it right next time!” Instead, face the issue openly, honestly, directly and with respect! Deal with the situation calmly, never placing blame, and then drop it.

ACTION PLAN: Make an effort to forgive errors this week, rather than holding onto judgment. You will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders!
