We’re now in the second chapter of our free, virtual 30-Minute Slow Down Series. This month, Jenn Endries, Founder and Owner of JennEd, LLC and Academic Dean at Rasmussen College, will be presenting her four-part series on The Power of Positivity.
In the second installment, Jenn reveals two new Powerful Positive Habits: The Power of Words and The Power of Reading.
We can all take steps to improve our outlook and increase positivity. Utilizing The Power of Words, Jenn suggests starting with self-mantras that start the day off right. Repeating a simple phrase aloud like, “I become more positive each day,” “I am happy, confident and see the best in others” and “I am positive and attract positivity into my life” are all great ways of setting a positive intention for the day.
She also suggests we make a habit of paying closer attention to the words we use every day. How often do you find yourself saying any of the following: if only, I can’t, at least, shouldn’t or never? Replace these negative words with positive ones and you’ll enhance your life, work and health!
The second powerful habit Jenn shares is The Power of Reading and its ability to create psychological growth. When we read, we’re able to step into someone else’s shoes and become more compassionate and empathetic. Studies show the brain waves of readers compare to people who actually experience the very same situations in real life. We’re transported into the moment. That’s why it’s important to choose positive, uplifting books. They have a very real effect on us!
In next week’s installment on The Power of Positivity, Jenn will reveal two new habits that can help you tap into positivity. She will explore mindfulness and the power of tuning in and taking advantage of our experiences. We hope you’ll join us!
