Syllabus:

Why Dignity Matters

Why does dignity matter? Because it’s one of the core causes of communication barriers and high-stress levels. Students discover how the science of dignity can improve relationships as they learn what motivates people (their why, what, and how), how to communicate with them more effectively, and how to lower stress in the process.

Understanding Dignity

Before we can truly understand others, we must understand ourselves first. Students will dive into their Dignify Snapshots which outline their personal motivations and preferred communication style. They will discover how to speak the language in person and in writing to Dignify others.

Introduction to Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to identify and manage one’s own emotions and the emotions of others. In a team setting, having high EI allows us to cope with our feelings, communicate effectively and build relationships with our teammates. This training will reveal why a solid understanding of EI is crucial in the workplace and will provide practical applications for students to reflect and improve upon.

Leading and Managing Part 1

Leadership is not an inherent ability, it’s a learned skill. And often, people are promoted into leadership positions with no formal training to speak of. Well, this is the end of all that. Students will discover the true role of a successful leader, the five levels of the Employee Hierarchy of Needs that need to be satisfied to reach employees’ full potential and how leading with empathy contributes to a more efficient, effective, and productive workplace.

Leading and Managing Part 2

Because human beings are so wonderfully unique, we have discovered many varied ways to handle tasks. This course brings together the best of all approaches to create one effective method we can all get on board with. Students will learn how an effective meeting wins the day over an efficient one, how to embrace time management and how to smooth out the roadblocks that can throw us off target.
