The Three Keys to Marketing
Wednesday, September 16, 2020 - Joe Kiedinger
Is your business living in the now or in it for the long haul? Sure, that clever ad may have increased business for a week or so. But, did it keep ‘em coming in? You may have a killer marketing plan in place, but if you’re not saying the right things you’ll soon be treading water, just hoping to keep afloat.
So, to get right to the point, what makes for truly successful marketing? Purpose. If you want to cut away from all the clutter, tell people what you believe—what you stand for. People buy why you do what you do first. The only exception would be if you were the only one to provide a unique service. That’s rare.
Your purpose is based on a combination of three key things:
- Why you do what you do
- What you do
- How you do it
Purpose should be the driving force behind every graphic that is designed, every sentence that is constructed and every feeling that is shared. We call this approach Purpose-directed Communication. It reminds us that every piece of communication must speak to our purpose.
That’s how you’ll leave a consistent, lasting impression. Show the world who you really are and what your business is capable of, first. What you do simply backs what you believe.
