I’ve committed my career to the study of how great companies communicate. To study communication, I would be amiss if I failed to look at leadership at the heart. Companies who communicate great have a leader driving a central message.
This picture was taken at a Disney Institute class I recently attended. I’ve realized that companies who communicate great have a central ‘It’. They remind their people over and over of what their “It” is: why they exist and what they are called to do.
This is one of many great quotes by Walt Disney. Walt’s ‘It’ revolved around delivering magic! This quote focuses on becoming excellent at ‘It’. Excellence is a constant pursuit of perfecting an existing idea until you become virtually perfect at ‘It’.
Most people give up too soon. They work years on something and just when a few people take notice, they give up. Perfection happens in the last 20% of effort; it takes 80% of your energy and time developing the idea and figuring out how to effectively communicate ‘It’.
Don’t give up, you’re idea could be amazing!
