Drew Brees is Cool!

Oh, no! What is a die hard Packers fan doing saying that Drew Brees is cool? What?! For my readers who are not football aware, Drew Brees is the Superbowl quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. I happened to be watching TV last night and caught an outdoor adventure show. The guide was a professional survivalist who takes celebrities (and his camera crew) to overnight trips through the jungle to survive over several days.
The conversations they had while they were resting were focused around values. Drew said something that I will never forget. He said, “Ya know, kids only need to know one thing from their daddy – that we love them. I tell each of my unique children every day that I love them, because if the Lord calls me home early, I never want them to wonder.”
He opened my eyes. I thought I told my kids, “I love you,” a lot. I don’t do it everyday so it’s something I’m going to get after. I feel this is something worth sharing because you know what, Drew’s right!
