Business Leadership and Love, Part 4: 3 Ways to Show You Care!

Welcome to Part 4 of 4 of our Business Leadership and Love series – 3 Ways to Show You Care!
Are you afraid of the word ‘love’ in a business context? So many people are. If you struggle with this idea, simply replace ‘love’ with the word, ‘care’. It’s really the same thing. Do you show you care? People don’t care what you know until they know that you care. Here are three simple ways to show employees you care:
1) Place an hour per month in your calendar to write a quick appreciation note to the employees in your support network. Perhaps you set a goal of writing three notes per month. It’s a great start!
2) If you lead people, make sure you meet with them 1-on-1 at least twice per month. Show ’em you care. Make your opening question, “so, how are you doing?”
3) Practice this philosophy: “The most important person in my life is the one who I’m with… right now.” This focus will be felt by every person you are with. Remove distraction and give that person your full attention.
Once people know you care, they suddenly care what you know!
