Building Trust

Wednesday, May 29, 2019 - Joe Kiedinger

Getting a little vulnerable builds trust.

If you want to build trust in people, create space. The space I’m referring to is the kind of space that’s really a moment. A moment of spending time with someone that allows for getting real.

Some powerful trust-building questions include:

What was something you’ve been through that was difficult?
What are three things I can do to be a better co-worker for you?
What is one thing you admire about me and one thing you need more of from me?

It’s believed that trust is built over time. You can shorten the time if you deliberately create moments to connect. For you Dignify users, you understand the power of the Dignify Check-in. Its sole purpose is to intuitively provide targeted questions for meaningful discussions around one’s dignity.

It’s these meaningful scheduled meetings where people can talk freely and share. Yeah… feels right!

ACTION PLAN: If you’re a Dignify subscriber, schedule three check-ins with three people you work close with. If you are not a subscriber, ask the questions above to three people you work with.

Understanding where others are coming from is critical in communicating and working toward a common cause.
