A Case For Dignity
Wednesday, October 4, 2017 - Joe Kiedinger
I typically do not write politically-driven “Wisdom On Wednesday” posts and I am not going to start today, even in the wake of the evil that displayed itself in Las Vegas.
One evil person killed 59 people and wounded hundreds. A terrible, cowardly act upon innocent people. In the face of this evil, I want to share the face of goodness by simply looking to Houston and Florida.
When you reflect on the goodness of the human spirit, you now see thousands of people coming to each other’s aid. You see tens of thousands benefiting from the kindness of others. There is so much more good, I believe, than evil happening in the world. We must not lose sight of it.
I hope you will take a moment of silence to pray for all the families immediately affected by this cowardly act. Though we may not know them personally, we all suffer with them and pray for them.
Let us also show gratefulness to the professionals and amateur rescuers who saved so many lives. You are amazing, and you are the true definition of this country and the dignity of humanity!
Thank you,
