It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish!

A lot of the time I see people who get caught up with what’s wrong. I tell them, focus on how to fix it, not the problem itself. There’s a lot of work we do with internal communication at companies across the U.S. and when we get started with each company, it’s always the same story. The leaders tend to tell me all the stuff that is wrong with the attitude of, “We’ll see if you can improve things around here!”
However, we always improve things. Why? Because we focus on the solution, not the problem. I have also learned that doing little things over and over again are the key to communication improvement; it’s never the big things. People can’t put their arms around the big things.
My son wanted a $2,000 motorcycle, but when he saw the dollar figure he said, “I will never have that much money!” However, when he believed he could find a way to save $100 per pay period, he realized he could achieve it in less than a year.
Positive change begins with the little things, not the big.
