Attention All Dreamer/Doers!
Wednesday, March 4, 2020 - Joe Kiedinger
I’m writing this “WOW” for all the Dreamer/Doers out there. A Dreamer/Doer is a person who imagines ideas that don’t exist yet and actually does something about it. They, at the very least, show courage and explore to see if their ideas have any merit. This quote of Einstein’s really speaks to me:
“If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.”
A new idea must be absurd to have some promise.
I have had many people try to sabotage my dreams and ideas for a better workplace and a better life. I was accused by snooty professionals that I needed to have a PhD to help invent Dignify. I told them that a love for my stepson will always trump a PhD. I was determined to understand his intrinsic beauty. It’s amazing what the love of a child can drive one to accomplish.
I’ve had employees try to sabotage the very fabric of my efforts and the efforts of their co-workers. It’s ugly, it’s painful and they always move on by their own decision or ours.
You Dreamer/Doers, take it from me: talk is cheap. Keep testing and prodding your idea with various types of people. Listen for the encouragement and listen for the friction. The friction can teach you a lot and help you to tweak or adjust your thinking.
Now, let’s talk about the Uplifters! The Uplifters are like a strong congruent wind that lifts your sails and brings your idea to life. I have so many of these wonderful people in my life including our current employees. Without believers to come along with you it’s really hard to get traction.
The bottom line is: I celebrate you Dreamer/Doers. I’m with you, I’m rooting for you and if you need words of encouragement, reach out and let’s grab coffee. I always have time for you.
Humbly,
JOE KIEDINGER
ACTION PLAN: Test, prod and see if you can activate your idea. It must be absurd if it’s worth pursuing!
