Setting Priorities
Wednesday, March 29, 2017 - Joe Kiedinger
Do you ever wonder how people get so many things done? How many times have you been in a conversation where a person tells you something like, “I commit to reading one non-fiction book per month to learn something new.”
Your response to questions like these, “I wish I had that kind of time!” I think you and I both know that it has nothing to do with time, and has everything to do with priorities. The sign posted below is located at Prophit headquarters in our lobby. It’s a reminder that if your going to do something, why not make it awesome! Awesomeness can only happen when there is a serious focus on a goal or project.
How do you choose to spend your time? I have a small addiction to my backgammon app on my phone (I know, that’s an old person’s game – hey, I’m an old soul). I can sit and play backgammon for an hour straight and plow through about twenty games in that time frame. What a waste of time!
The great thing about time is that it’s the master justice system. Meaning, time is fair and predictable. We ALL have the same amount of time in a day. If you’re like me, it’s time to reflect on how we are using it.
For some it’s focusing on a goal and making small steps to get there. For others, it’s less work time and more family time or more alone time for reflection.
Whatever your priority, what will you do differently with your time to make it awesome!
