I know, it’s a crazy group… but it’s much like some amazing teams I get the privilege of coaching—diverse!
In life, we will meet many people who stand out as being very different from ourselves. For example, if you’re highly extroverted, they’re introverted. That’s an easy one.
In the workplace, we need leadership teams to be truly diverse in order to be truly successful. The reality is if everyone is in constant agreement, then someone isn’t needed.
Leader groups must be diverse in both thinking and style. Big-picture people are needed, analytic-minded people are needed, no-nonsense people are needed. We must have diverse thinkers. When a team is truly diverse it should sound like the beginning of a funny joke! That’s when you know you’ve got it!

ACTION PLAN: Take a look at your teams. Are they filled with like-minded people with like strengths? If so, it’s time to shake things up and reach higher!
